Welcome to St John's CE Academy

As determined by the School Admissions Code, the Trust is required to consult on these arrangements, and invites comments on the proposed changes.

A copy of the proposed admissions policy is available on the DGAT website for your information.

 Belonging, Believing, Becoming

 Mark 4: 30-32

"What shall we say the Kingdom of God is like?" aske Jesus. "What parable shall we use to explain it? It is like this. A man takes a mustard seed, the smallest seed in the world, and plants it in the ground. After a while it grows up and becomes the biggest of all plants. It puts out such large branches that the birds come and make their nests in its shade."

Welcome to St John’s Church of England Academy; a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment where everyone is valued. Our school is committed to making a difference to every child in our care. We aim to give our children the best start to their education, developing a love of learning and creating happy memories along the way as they grow into responsible members of the community.

As part of the Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust, our educational vision has a caring and supportive Christian ethos at its core. Our staff team are committed to every child achieving to the best of their ability and flourishing in all aspects of their lives. Working closely with parents and carers, we make sure that pupils are happy, safe and that they are achieving success in all areas of school life. We aim to enable every child at St John’s to flourish by encouraging their gifts and talents so that they leave us believing they can achieve.

We are lucky to be located in the picturesque Forest of Dean, which is steeped in history and offers a wealth of opportunities to enhance learning for our pupils and make learning as hands on and as meaningful as possible. We try to make learning creative, stimulating, inclusive and fun with lots of challenge and goals for the future. By offering an enriching, purposeful and exciting curriculum; our aim is that all teaching develops understanding, knowledge and skills.

Visits are encouraged and welcomed: we would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school.
We look forward to sharing this important period of your child’s life with you and hope that your association with the school is a long and happy one.
